To “Diet” or Not To “Diet”

Anyone who has tried to diet knows that it is not an easy task, especially if eating healthy is a foreign concept to you. All too often people with lofty goals and high hopes, choose such restrictive, almost impossible diets, that inevitably failure occurs.
My opinion, is that we need to begin to shift our thinking from “diet”, (i.e. loss, restrictions, and deprivation of what we “deserve”) to “diet,” simply meaning the foods we choose to eat. We need to eat a clean, healthy diet, not go on a “diet.” Yes, many people want to lose weight to look good or feel great, but what about simply to be healthy. If your goal is to be healthy then eating healthy just comes with the territory. This shift in thinking may help us to be successful at a “diet”. As a result, you will reap the benefits such as having more energy or weight loss or just feeling great but in this manner it will be long lasting and life changing. The bottom line is that whether you are a person looking to lose weight or who wants to lean out and tone up, you need to eat a “clean” diet.
