Are Nutritional Supplements for Me?
I am often asked, “Why do I need to take any supplements? Isn’t my diet enough?” Unfortunately, if you want your body working at its best, you have got to supplement your diet with high quality supplements. Unless you want to eat 10 pounds of organic spinach daily, it is nearly impossible to get all of the good stuff your body needs from food alone. Even though I recommend eating a clean diet to promote health, eating clean still isn’t enough.
Depleted soils, mass farming, and the process of filling our foods with preservatives and various hormones have essentially zapped the core nutrients out of most of our food. We continue to hear about the endless benefits of essential nutrients like vitamin D, branches of vitamin B and omega-3 fatty acid that are missing from our diet. I have found that adding high quality supplements and vitamins to my diet has optimized my health. Once I began to supplement my diet with some of these essential nutrients, I realized the negative effect missing the “good stuff” had on my health.
